MANSFIELD: Margaret Hock, 100, of Mansfield, died April 1, 2014 at Kingston of Ashland. Born February 8, 1914 in Copley, OH she was the daughter of George and Elizabeth (Mueller) Freund.

Before she was married, Margaret worked for North American Knitting Company as a seamstress. She was a member of Apostolic Christian Church, Middle Bellville Road. Margaret loved farm living, raising animals and food, gardening, and tending to flowers, particularly impatience and petunias. Her family arranged a planting day every year to plant flowers. In her free time, she enjoyed baking strudels, pies, and different meals, canning, and freezing food. Above all else, Margaret enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving are her daughters, Carol (Larry) Kurek and Sandi (Gary) Freeman, both of Mansfield; grandchildren, Todd Kurek of Mansfield, Lisa Kurek Cook of Mansfield, Shannon (Jennifer) Kurek of Granville, OH, and Jeffrey Willis of Erie, PA; great grandchildren, Kody Kurek, Tyler and Sarah Cook, Henry, Madeline, and Ezra Kurek; sister, Elizabeth (Frank) Statler; and several nieces, nephews, and numerous others.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Henry; brothers, George, Henry, John, and William Freund; and sisters, Sophie Freund, Katherine Hock, Mary Lamnek, and Lydia Downing.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Kingston of Ashland for the wonderful care they provided Margaret.

Funeral services, conducted by Erwin Webel, will be Friday, April 4, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington Springmill Rd., Ontario. Family and friends are invited to visit for one hour prior to the service from 10-11 a.m. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Apostolic Christian Church-Middle Bellville Road, 1332 Middle Bellville Rd., Mansfield, OH 44904.
