MANSFIELD: Johanna Bodiford, 87, of Mansfield, passed away Monday evening, March 31, 2014 at OhioHealth MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. She was born June 30, 1926 in Mosbach, Germany (Black Forest Region) to the late Josephine (Weber) and Joseph Zink.
Johanna always enjoyed creating in her kitchen as well as in her sewing and flower rooms, especially when it was for friends and family. She was an avid and accomplished gardener and stained glass artist and was very proud of the many blue ribbons she won for her flower arrangements over the years. Johanna liked to travel, enjoyed the challenge of trying new things and was always ready to help or give to others.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, James E. Bodiford, Sr. whom she married March 24, 1955; two sons, James E. Bodiford, Jr. of Boyertown, PA and Stanley A. (Jean) Bodiford of Mansfield; a granddaughter, Monica Bodiford of Charlotte, NC; and many good friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, sister and her beloved, Mom Schneider.
A memorial service celebrating Johanna's life will be held Saturday, April 5, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in Ontario Christian Church, 1029 Lewis Rd., Ontario. Pastor Randy Allen will conduct the service. The family invites everyone to attend a meal immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, Johanna asked that contributions be made to benefit Kingwood Center or the
