TIRO: Rayman E. Mollencopf, age 72, of Tiro, died Thursday, April 3, 2014 at his home.

He was born June 16, 1941 in Bucyrus, the son of the late Percy and S. Leona (Borts) Mollencopf. Ray served his country in the United States Army. A hard worker, Ray farmed and worked at the Timken Roller Bearing Plant in Bucyrus for 30 years. After his retirement he drove a propane truck for Country Star. He was a member of Calvary United Church of Christ in Crestline where he was serving on the consistory. He was a former Auburn Township Trustee and was a member of the Crawford County Farm Bureau. Ray loved to go fishing and spending time with his granddaughters.

Rayman is survived by his wife, Carol (Phenicie) Mollencopf. They would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on October 3 of this year. Also surviving are his children: Christina (Joseph) Miller of Shiloh and Randall Mollencopf of Crestline; 3 granddaughters: June, Joy and Jamie Miller; a brother: Floyd (Liz) Mollencopf of Galion; a brother-in-law: Donald (Jane) Phenicie of New Washington; a sister-in-law: Maxine Phenicie; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers: Alvin Mollencopf and John Mollencopf; a sister: Barbara Hopple; a brother-in-law: Daryl Phenicie; and a sister-in-law: Barbara Phenicie.

Friends and family are welcome on Sunday, April 6, 2014 from 2-6 PM at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby, where funeral services will be held on Monday at 10:30 AM with Rev. Gary Proietti officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Tiro. Memorial expressions may be made to Calvary United Church of Christ or to the Plymouth-Shiloh FFA Alumni.
