ONTARIO: Carolyn Cantrell, 58, of Ontario passed away Thursday evening, April 10, 2014 in the Palliative Care Unit at OhioHealth MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. She was born November 7, 1955 in Mansfield to the late Genevieve (Keiser) and William "Ed" Perry.
Carolyn was a fun loving woman who was often playing on her laptop. She was a skilled seamstress, making quilts for each of her grandchildren. In fact, spoiling her grandchildren was her favorite pastime. Carolyn loved her dog, Daisy, and enjoyed their cuddle time.
She is survived by two daughters, Michelle "Shelly" (Denny) Miller of Ontario and Nikki (Heath) Stephens of Mansfield; her grandson, John Cantrell, whom she raised as a son; four grandchildren, Denny Jr. and Amanda Miller and Tyler and Cheyenne Stephens; a great-granddaughter, Alexis Cantrell; six siblings, Patricia Lawhorn, McKennly Lawhorn, Edna Lawhorn, David Lawhorn, Jeanette Hess and Phyllis Porter; numerous nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Mary Bigler; and special friends, Cheryl (Dewey) Stevens, Candy Horton and Betty Davis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Cantrell, Jr. in 2000; one sister; two brothers; and in-laws, Tealie and John Cantrell, Sr.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Monday, April 14, 2014 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd. The funeral service will be held Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home with Rev. Clifford Earl Tackett officiating. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery.
