O. Frances Flora

CRESTLINE: O. Frances Flora, 94, of Crestline, died Saturday, April 12, 2014 at Mill Creek Nursing Home, Galion.

Frances was born in Rockford, OH on March 8, 1920 to the late Charles and Grace (Van Fleet) Snyder. She married John J. Flora on March 16, 1939 and he preceded her in death on October 23, 1996.

Frances was employed by Carlisle Corp. as an engineering secretary for 25 years until retirement in 1982. She was a member of the former First Presbyterian Church, Crestline. She was a 75 year member of the Order of Eastern Star, first with the former Harmony Chapter # 43, Crestline and then Bucyrus Chapter #3. She was also a longtime member of the Crestline Historical Society. Frances was a very generous person and was famous for baking cookies and brownies to give away.

She is survived by her three daughters, Carolyn Steele of Ontario, CA, Sharon (Dennis) Flaherty of Crestline and Ronalee (Jon) Korewja of Beaumont, TX; her three grandsons, Jeffrey Flaherty of Cambridge, James Flaherty of Crestline and Steven (Sarah) Flora of Goldsby, OK, her two granddaughters, Laura Atherton of Iowa and Holly (Eric) Ulanday of Texas; her 12 great grandchildren; and three nieces and her nephew.

She was preceded in death by her son, John C. "Chuck" Flora; her three grandsons, Christopher Gaiefsky, Russ Flora and Alan "AJ" Leppert; her two brothers, Richard and William Snyder; and her four sisters, Genevieve Lee, Honore Brollier, Mary Malaby and Margaret " Peggy" Miller.

Friends may call from 7-9 PM Tuesday and 1 hour prior to the funeral at the Mark A. Schneider Funeral Home, Crestline. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday April 16, 2014 at the Mark A. Schneider Funeral Home, Crestline, with Pastor Diana Seaman officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Crestline.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Lowe Volk Park or Home Care Matters in care of the funeral home.
