MANSFIELD: Michael Jamar Jackson, 35, passed this life Sunday, April 13, 2014 at his home in Canal Winchester.
Mr. Jackson was born on Wednesday, May 31, 1978 in Mansfield. Jamar was a 1996 graduate of Mansfield Senior High School where he was also a member of the Tyger's football team and Prom King his Senior year. He was an employee of Kokosing Construction Company in Columbus for the past 15 years and a member of Labor Union Local 423. Jamar's hobbies were cooking, fishing, and spending time with his daughters that included taking them fishing with him. He was a football fan, with Ohio State and the Detroit Lions, being his favorite teams. For relaxation Jamar enjoyed watching reruns of "Martin".
Jamar is survived by his parents, Michael and Beverly Jackson Schafer; four daughters, Kadaziah "Daziah" Jackson, serving with the US Navy stationed in Great Lakes, Illinois, Annetta, Messiah, and Jamara Jackson, Columbus, one step daughter, Cortezia Moton, Columbus; brother, Robert "Pig" Jackson, Sr., Mansfield; sister, Malika Fowler, San Diego, California; maternal grandparents, LaConnie (Charles "Bobby" )Tucker, Mansfield; paternal grandparents, Willie (Lisa) Mack, Ashville, North Carolina and Patricia (Jesse) Powell, Mansfield; two nephews, Robert, Jr. and Jervel Jackson; one niece, D'Aysha Caruthers; three aunts including a special aunt, Angel Howard; five uncles; former wife, Amanda Jackson with whom he remained friends, Columbus and a host of relatives.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:00 in the Ruth Anna Lee Williams Memorial Chapel of Williams Funeral Services with his uncle, Minister Barry Lawrence officiating. Friends may call at the chapel from 9-10 a.m. Interment will be in Mansfield Cemetery.
