Bruce E. Yochheim

MANSFIELD: Bruce E. Yochheim, 65, of Mansfield, passed away peacefully at home on May 30, 2014. Born February 16, 1949 in Mansfield, he was the son of William and Mildred Yochheim. Bruce graduated from Madison High School and went on to attend The Ohio State University. Bruce worked at Lazarus and Kaufman's in retail mangement for over twenty years before going to work as an Account Executive at WMFD TV. Prior to his retirement in 2012, Bruce enjoyed working at Joyce Buick of Mansfield.

Bruce was an amazing family man. He was a great role model and a loving father and grandfather, and a doting and dedicated husband to Louise, his wife and best friend of 43 years. Bruce enjoyed family gatherings and trips. Bruce was a lifelong Ohio State Buckeye fan and a music enthusiast. He was the lead singer of a classic rock and roll band, Kick-N-Past, for over a decade. He enjoyed many hobbies over the years including model railroading and collecting circus memorabilia. He also took great pleasure in home improvement projects and gardening and had become quite the cook over the past several years.

Bruce was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church and a past member of the Mansfield Kiwanis Club. He was also an official member of the Tuesday night "Wing Brothers".

Surviving are his wife, Louise D. Yochheim; sons, Jason E. Yochheim (wife Jeanne and son Jack) of Powell, OH and Nicholas G. Yochheim of Worthington, OH.; sister, Linda (Mark) Freeman of Lexington, OH and brother-in-law, Emanuel (Mary) Gordon of Manning, IA; and several nieces and nephews.

Bruce is preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bernard and Lena Gordon.

Family and friends are invited to call from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington Springmill Road, Ontario. A Mass of Christian Burial, conducted by Father Gregory Hite, will be held Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 104 West First Street, Mansfield, OH 44902. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
