Selvinleene Conley

MANSFIELD: "Absent from the body is to be present with the Lord." Our mom, Selvinleene Conley peacefully went home to be with her Lord and Savior on June 18, 2014 in the comfort of her home. She was met by her loving husband, Charles. She was born May 13, 1930 in Salyersville, Kentucky to the late Addie (Montgomery) and Arlen Phipps. She married Charles Conley on December 12, 1953 and shared 52 wonderful years together until his death in 2005.

Affectionately known to all as "Sib", she faithfully attended Cornerstone Free Will Baptist Church and lived her life as a testament to God's word, volunteering in many activities through the church. Sib was not rude or self-seeking and was not easily angered. She kept no record of wrongs done, and did not delight in evil, but rejoiced in truth. Sib was a wonderful, godly woman for over 50 years.

She was a wonderful homemaker and was a mom to many throughout the years. Sib most enjoyed the summer months: planting flowers, cooking, baking and cleaning. Her pride and joy was her grandson and she was proud to attend his sporting events and award ceremonies. She enjoyed fellowship at the GM Retirees luncheons and made many friends in her vacation travels, most especially enjoying Tennessee.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Reatta and Vernon Cole; grandson, Austin Cole; four brothers, Clayton Phipps and Ernie (Justine) Phipps, both of Mansfield, Layton (Naomi) Phipps of Cincinnati and Thomas (Jean) Phipps of KY; three sisters, Emarie Sudduth of Ashland, Delena (Robert) Castle of TX and Barbara (Kermit) Gamble of KY; many nieces and nephews; and several wonderful friends. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Sadie Caudill and Alkie Russell.

The family will receive friends from 4-9 p.m. Friday, June 20, 2014 in the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd. The funeral service will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in Cornerstone Free Will Baptist Church,1602 Walker Lake Road, with Pastor John Johnson and Rev. Dr. Tim Stout officiating. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in care of the family for her grandson's education.

Her family knows they are not saying "good bye", but "see you later in Heaven", Mom and Mamaw. We'll love you always.
