FREDERICKTOWN: Clifford Dillow, age 83, of Fredericktown died Wednesday morning, April 16, 2014 at his daughter's home. He was born on August 18, 1930 in Cheop, Kentucky to the late Lester Dillow and Essie (Blevins) Harris.
Cliff was a spray painter at Perfection Coby in Galion for over 20 years and then went on to work for Smith Heating & Cooling until he retired. He served in the United States Army where he was stationed in Alaska. Cliff loved the outdoors and spent time hunting, fishing and planting a large garden, which he loved to share with friends. He attended the Waterford Church of Christ.
Cliff married Phyllis Carol Turner on January 1, 1961 in Galion, who preceded him in death. They were married for 45 years.
Cliff is survived by his daughter, Angela (Dale) VanHorn of Bellville; four grandchildren, Jeremiah (Janet Maples) Johnson, Peggy (Nathan ) Kinney, Briana and Lindsay VanHorn; two great-grandchildren, Mathew and Avah Kinney; and siblings, Jack (Julie) Harris of Indiana, Vickie (Ken) Cooksey of Kentucky, and Ruth Conley of North Carolina.
In addition to his wife and parents Cliff was preceded in death by his son, Darrel Johnson; one brother, Hershel Dillow; and three sisters, Essie Adkins, Joann Harris, and Loretta Mitchell.
The family will be having a Celebration of Life party Saturday July 12, 2014 at Waterford Church of Christ, 20557 Waterford Road, Fredericktown, Ohio 43019 from 2:00 to 5:00 pm.
