Don E. Parker

BELLVILLE: Don went to be with his Lord and savior Jesus Christ Friday July 11, 2014 at 6 p.m. from Ohio Health MedCentral Hospital. He was 85. His death was much unexpected, mainly related to heart complications.

If you would have asked him he would have told you that he was a truly blessed man to be survived by his loving wife of nearly 59 years Betty (Morrison) Parker, his son Sam (Janet) Parker, his daughter Ann Sautter; grandkids Marcus Parker, Steven (Kelly) Sautter, Michelle (Christopher) Peterman, Samantha (John) Walker, and Alex (Tiffany) Sautter; great grandkids Ava, Zackery, Vincent, Dean, Sawyer and Little Alexandria still on her way; brothers Ralph, George and Jerry, and a sister Marybelle; and a brother Gene is deceased.

Don was a retired truck driver who drove coast to coast and border to border for over 2o years. Over his driving career, several awards were accumulated including one for over two million miles driven without an accident. He enjoyed telling stories about different jobs and situations he had gotten into during his driving career. Even after all these years of retirement if you mentioned a big city (anywhere in the country) he could tell you the roads and places around it.

Don served his country in the U.S. Army. He also served his church family as deacon at both Cornerstone Church, and Lexington Community Church. More recently, he was a member of Clear Fork Alliance Church.

He will truly be missed by his family, friends and all those who were blessed enough to come into contact with him. Described as "spunky," he was always joking and trying to bring a smile to the faces of everyone around him.

Though it is a sad time, it is a time of celebration because Don is in heaven with the Almighty God. He believed that Jesus Christ was the one true God who came to the earth as a child of a virgin birth, spread the gospel and preformed miracles as a man, died upon a cross and arose three days later, all to pay for the sins of the world and to proclaim "that whoever believeth in him shall not perish, but have eternal life" in heaven. (John 3:16)

Please join in remembering and celebrating this man of God by greeting his family Wednesday, July 16, 2014 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in Clear Fork Alliance Church, 1008 State Route 97, Bellville, where a worship service will follow at 12 p.m. The Rev. Dr. Michael V. Stine will officiate. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Memorial Park near Lexington. Memorial contributions may be made to Clear Fork Alliance Church. The Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home is honored to serve the family. Send them a note of support at: SnyderFuneralHomes.com.

The Parker family would be honored if you would remember Don's family and friends in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you for your time and if you would like to know how you too can live a full and blessed life with God, please visit a local Christian church and see what you are missing. Have a great day and God bless.
