Francis Marion Baldridge Jr.

MANSFIELD: Francis Marion Baldridge Jr, "Uncle Jr.", returned home to his Father's side on July 15, 2014 after a long and valiant battle with cancer at his Ontario home. Born February 28, 1951 in Paintsville, Kentucky to, and preceded in death by Francis and Ethel Baldridge.

He is survived by Judy, his loving, dedicated wife and best friend of 23 years. He was the father of and survived by Shannon Diane Stanley, husband Tim, and their three children Katie Sue, Meghan, and Marissa. He was preceded in death by siblings Jack and Pauline, and survived by siblings, Samantha, Frank, Donald, Flo, Dixie, and Evelenne.

Jr. embodied the definition of a hard worker. He spent his entire professional life as a pipe fitter for AK Steel, and retired in 2003 from the steel industry after 33 years of service. Jr. was an avid sports fan and a dedicated fanatic of his beloved Kentucky Wildcats. He prided himself on his immaculate fruit and vegetable gardens, and gained great satisfaction from working outside with the land. He also enjoyed playing cards, games, movies, and listening to music.

Jr. loved his family and his house was an epicenter of hospitality and activity. His home was a warm and welcoming gathering place that always had an open door for all family get togethers. He enjoyed, and spoiled his many nieces and nephews that always enjoyed spending time with their Uncle Jr.. Although he had many passions and hobbies, his true joy was Owl Creek Harmony Baptist Church where he was a member and dedicated follower of Jesus Christ. He was passionate about his church family, and took enormous pride in working in and around his home church. A devoted husband, father and family patriarch, Uncle Jr. will be sadly missed, and the memories he created with his extended family will never be forgotten.

Visitation will be held at the Wappner Funeral Home, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd., from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Friday, July 18, 2014. The funeral service will be held at Owl Creek Harmony Baptist Church, 7397 County Rd. 22, Fredericktown on Saturday, July 19 at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in North Fork Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Owl Creek Harmony Baptist Church or MedCentral Hospice.
