MOUNT GILEAD: James Paul Foster (Jim), age 67, went to be with the Lord on July 29th at home surrounded by his loving family after a two year battle with cancer.
Jim was born on March 4, 1947 in Mansfield, OH to the late Charles and Nadine (Francis) Foster.
On April 27, 1990 Jim married Judy Ruggles Lowther and they had 25 years of enjoyment to talk about. Jim loved his horses and together they enjoyed camping, trail riding, team penning and cowboy mounted shooting.
Jim served in the US Army after graduating from Madison High School in 1966. He worked at Tapan Stove, at HPM as a machinist, at Stahls, and after retiring Jim worked at the Glendale Cemetery in Cardington and you would see him out early in the morning hauling an Amish crew. He was Captain of the Johnsville Fire Department for seven years and worked for the township. Jim enjoyed team penning as a member of the Central Ohio Team Penners. Since 2007 he has been a member of the Northern Ohio Outlaws enjoying the old cowboy way, riding and shooting on his horse. He also served as a director.
Jim will be missed by the love of his life, wife Judy of Mt. Gilead; children, Juanita (Bill) Riggins of Fredericktown, Jason Foster, Tim (Betty) Lowther of Ashley, Tammy Sech of Ashley; grandchildren, Raymond (Bethany), Charlie, Kadyon, Raelynn, Zack, Patrick, Justin (Jordon), Christina, Jordon, DJ, Dusty, Dylan, Brandon; great-grandchilden, Tamra, Kyle, Spencer, Hayleigh, Athena, Jaymeson, Madison; brother, Chuck Foster of Mansfield and sister, Bea (Larry) Heiser of Mansfield; he will be missed by many family members and numerous friends and good neighbors; he will be dearly missed by his extended family the Northern Ohio Outlaws and many cowboy mounted shooters; also his four legged friends, his horse Badger; his dogs, Maggie, Mister and Bandit; and cat, Bridget.

Friends may call on Friday, August 1, 2014 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Gompf Funeral Home, 440 South Center Street in Cardington. The funeral service will be held Saturday, August 2, 2014 at the funeral home at 11:00 am with Pastor Brian Mosher officiating. Following the service the burial will take place in the Shauck Cemetery with full military honors.
