BUFFALO, NY: Katherine Miller Lutz was born November 8, 1918 in Mansfield, Ohio to Fred Miller, Sr. and Elizabeth Bauer Miller, both whom preceded her in death. Katherine passed away June 10, 2011 in Buffalo, New York, where she made her home for the last five years. She was a graduate of Mansfield Senior High School in the January Class of 1937. After her graduation, she worked at Westinghouse Electric until her marriage, then worked in her husband's law practice for 16 years. She was a lifetime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School for 23 years and was a member of the Missionary Circle. Katherine was also a member of the Mansfield Liederkranz.
She is survived by four nieces, Marcia Stevenson of Albuquerque, NM, Ruth Stevenson of Buffalo, NY, Milena Miller of Athens, OH and Marilyn Hoffmann of Chicago, IL; five nephews, Fred Miller III of Anna Maria, FL, Joe Miller of Perrysville, OH, John Miller and Jerry Miller, both of Ontario, OH and Doug Dickson of Plymouth, OH. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Judge Harold Lutz; brothers, Anton Miller, Fred Miller, Jr., Joseph Miller and Robert Bauer; and her beloved sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Alice (Glenn) Stevenson.
Friends may visit from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. The funeral service will be in the funeral home Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Richard Beal of St. Paul Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery.
