MANSFIELD: John J. Jarboe, Sr., 76, passed away Sunday evening, September 11, 2011 at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. Born February 1, 1935, in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Shanklin) Jarboe. John retired from Prudential Insurances where he was an independent agent. He was a devoted, loving, inspirational, and sometimes stubborn man who will be greatly missed by family and friends. John was an avid sports fan following the Cleveland Indians, Cleveland Browns and OSU Buckeyes closely.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Dolores (Porcase) Jarboe; four daughters, Becky (Ken) Fridley of Columbus, Jaye (Don) Cooper of Birmingham, AL, Brenda (Mark) Steel of Mansfield and Roxanne Jarboe of Reynoldsburg; a son, John J. (Michelle) Jarboe, Jr. of Beaver Falls, PA; ten grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; a sister, Darlene Delaney of Mansfield; best friend, Pastor Joe Kunz; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Bill and Gary Jarboe.
A memorial service conducted by Pastor Joe Kunz will be held Thursday, September 15, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. in the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd. Online guest registry at www.wappner.com
