Richard "Dick" Stewart

MANSFIELD: Richard "Dick" Stewart, 74, passed away at his home Friday evening, February 10, 2012. Born March 18, 1937 in Mansfield, he was the son of the late Robert and Geraldine (Guthrie) Stewart. Dick graduated from Plainfield High School in Indiana in 1955. An outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting-especially deer-and fishing. Dick enjoyed pheasant hunting and enjoyed his trip to Colorado for elk hunting with his friends. He had a love of horses and his time spent with his special horse, Blaze, was treasured by him. Dick was a member of the Ohio Foundation Quarter Horse Association, National Rifle Association and Richland County Fish and Game Association. He was a member of the Johnny Appleseed Square and Round Dance Club and enjoyed country music and dancing with his lovely wife, Linda. Dick was formerly employed at Mansfield Tire and Rubber Co. and retired from the engineering department at MedCentral Health System. Never one to sit still, he was currently employed at WalMart in the sporting goods department on Possum Run Rd. Dick was a devoted member of Trinity United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Kirsh Stewart; son, Larry Stewart; two grandchildren he adored, Emily Kay Stewart and Trevor Allen Stewart; brother, Bob (Loni) Stewart; uncle, Dick Foltz; and mother-in-law, Barb (Kirsh) Holtkamp. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Joan Stewart; aunt, Katherine Foltz; two fathers-in-law, Harold Kirsh and Calvin Holtkamp; and brother-in-law, Phil Kirsh.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 18, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. Pastor Robert Stull will conduct the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the .
