John A. Tamburrino

MANSFIELD: John A. Tamburrino, 81, of Mansfield died Friday, April 6, 2012 at Brethren Care Village in Ashland. Born April 14, 1930 in Mansfield, he was the son of Donato and Filomena (D'Orazio) Tamburrino. He was a 1949 graduate of Mansfield Senior High and served in the United States Army from 1951 to 1953. He had worked for the Kroger Company as the head of the produce department for 41 years retiring in 1988. He helped build two houses which he and his wife lived in. He enjoyed throwing horseshoes in his younger years, watching sports, especially the Cleveland Browns and Indians and The Ohio State Buckeyes, and playing checkers. He loved to garden, travel and play practical jokes on everyone. He was always very proud of his children.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred (McNeely) Tamburrino; three sons, Randy (Rai Lynn) Tamburrino, Rick (Penny) Tamburrino and Ron (Lee Ann) Tamburrino; a daughter, Robin Lyons; grandchildren, Carrie (John) Fanello, Kelly (Aaron) Royster, Ryan Liersemann (Dan Albers); Ross (Ashley) Liersemann, Rachael Lierseman and her fiancé, Ben Richards, Heather Tamburrino, Hollie (Matt) Brenner, Kevin Tamburrino, Kara (Devin) Ohl, Serena, John Michael, Nicholas, Robert, Mary Rose, Angelo Tamburrino and Brittany and Courtney Lyons; great grandchildren, Emma Sue and Brady Guest, Rylan and Cole Royster, Andrew and Anthony Fanello, Brynley and Britton Liersemann, Gabe and Kenley Brenner, Aubrey Ohl and Jordan Lyons; sisters-in-law, Rosemary Tamburrino, Josephine Winters, Betty (Ray) Thoman and Ellie McNeely; brothers-in-law, Lester (Jane) McNeely, Melvin (Carol) McNeely and Ed (Niki) McNeely; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step mother, Mary; his infant twin brother and two additional brothers, Joseph and Angelo; a son-in-law, Scott Lyons; a brother-in-law, Bill McNeely; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, William and Christine McNeely.

Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond Street, Mansfield. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at the funeral home conducted by Father Nelson Beaver and Pastor Mike Cloud. Burial will follow in Mansfield Catholic Cemetery.
