MANSFIELD: Marguerette Heath Yeager, age 93, of Mansfield passed away Saturday, November 3, 2012 in her home at Primrose Retirement Community following a short illness.
She was born July 18, 1919 in Mt. Sterling, KY, the daughter of Oliver Morgan and Alice (Terry) Heath. At age 5 Margurette and her family moved to the farming community of Platte County, Missouri, where she was raised. During WWII she worked in a munitions factory in Independence, Missouri.
On November 22, 1945 she married Robert Yeager of Ohio and moved to the Mansfield area where she remained the rest of her life, raising her family.
An avid gardener, cook, and seamstress, Margurette was also a Brownie/Girl Scout and 4-H leader. For many years, she was a member of a service sorority, Beta Kappa Tau. Margurette retired from J.C. Penney where she had worked many years as a drapery consultant and interior decorator.
Margurette was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, after 52 years of marriage; by her brothers, Cecil R., Marion R., Howard C., and Dean L. Heath, and a sister, Patsy E. Heath.
She is survived by three daughters Karen (Chet) Zellner, Janet (Kenneth) Allen, and Donna (Cem) Clark-Cetek; seven grandchildren Richard (Michelle) Zellner, Jeanne (Michael) Crall, Polly (Chris) Slayman, Rob (Michelle) Gienger, Teri Gienger, Seth Clark, and Meredith Clark; and ten great grandchildren.
Friends may call Wednesday, November 7, 2012 from 4-6 pm in the Marion Avenue Snyder Funeral Home where a memorial celebration will follow at 6 pm. Celebrant Jerry Wilson will officiate. Private interment will be at a later date.
Memorial contributions to Hospice of North Central Ohio may be made through the funeral home.
