Corrine Sue Smith

MANSFIELD: Corrine Sue Smith, 69, of Mansfield, died Friday, November 16, 2012 at MedCentral Mansfield. Born October 9, 1943 in Mansfield, she was the daughter of Milo E. and Mildred M. (Andrews) Hamilton. A 1961 graduate of Mansfield Senior High School, Corrine was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and retired from School Specialties. She was a compassionate and selfless person who worked with Relay for Life, Reach for Recovery, and was a volunteer for What Goes Round. In her free time, Corrine enjoyed golfing, fishing, bowling, and reading. She also liked tending to her flowers and watching birds.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, George Smith of Mansfield; son, Bruce (Missy) Smith of Mansfield; grandchildren, Cody Fenton and Kayla Smith, both of Mansfield; sisters, Carrie Kay (Dennis) Vogel of Mansfield and Cindy (Dean) Palmer of Lexington; sisters-in-law, Frances (Bob) Norris and Margaret (Roy) Messenger, both of Mansfield and Pauline Hamilton of Ontario; brother-in-law, Allen Carr of Miami, FL; numerous nieces, nephews, and good family friends, especially, Gary Hall of Bellville and Bob Krill of Butler. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Conrad M. and Clarence W. Hamilton; sister, Carol A. Carr; brothers-in-law, Chuck Hamilton and Bob Smith; sister-in-law, Irene Rowland; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Francis and Nan (Martin) Smith.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Windsor Park Cemetery conducted by Rev. Dr. Pentti Maki. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in care of the family. Wappner Funeral Directors is privileged to serve the family of Corrine Smith.
