Frank Buck Robinette

CRESTLINE: Frank Buck Robinette, 86, of 311 S. Washington St., Crestline, died surrounded by his family Thursday, November 22, 2012 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer.

Mr. Robinette was born in Benham, KY on November 6, 1926 to the late Erban T. and Beulah V. (Edwards) Robinette. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Jean Stevens. He married Margaretha Phillimore on July 14, 1986 and she survives him.

Frank retired from General Motors in 1990 after 29 years. He was a member of Union UAW #549. He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during WWII on the USS Dakota Destroyer and the USS Allen Summer. One of his great loves was Christmas. He was Santa Claus for over 40 years going to nursing homes, for family and for friends. This was done only from the heart. In the spring, Frank looked forward to planting his garden with love and sharing it with family and friends. A member of Woodlawn United Methodist Church, Bucyrus, Frank always looked forward on Sundays to usher. He had a big heart, loved God and family and never was known to have an enemy.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by the loves of his life: his daughter, Theresa and Erik Scheiber of Orlando, FL, his son, Tim and Patty Robinette of Crestline; his stepchildren, Rose Robinson, Millersburg, Becky and Mark Hay, Perryville, Ronald and Josie McClain, Millersburg, Colleen and Josh Laferty, Nevada, Pat and Terry Ryan, Teri and Craig Mosier, and Donald and Tammy Phillimore, Jr.; his grandchildren, Erika Scheiber, Austin Scheiber, Hastings Robinette, and Abbey Robinette; step-grandchildren Tabatha, Nicole, Josh, Kimberly, Samantha, Abbey; his sister-in-law Ett Robinette, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews who dearly loved their Uncle Buck.

He was preceded in death by his son, Todd Robinette; his sisters Ruby and Maxine; his brothers Howard, Lonnie, Chester, and Mack.

Friends may call Sunday, November 25, 2012 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Mark A. Schneider Funeral Home, Crestline. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, November 26, 2012 at the Mark A. Schneider Funeral Home, Crestline, with Pastor Jim Ellis officiating. Burial with will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Full military honors will be given at the graveside by the U.S. Navy and the Crestline/Galion veterans organizations.
