Lt. David M. "Lt. Goz." Gozdziewicz

ONTARIO: Lt. David M. "Lt. Goz." Gozdziewicz, age 64, of Ontario passed away unexpectedly at his home, Wednesday, December 5, 2012. David was born May 17, 1948 in Chicago, Illinois and was the son of Angelo Dorto and the late Rose Dorto. He graduated from Perry Township High School in 1966. David served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He attended North Central State College earning a degree in Criminal Justice. He worked at various jobs but found his life's vocation when he began work for the State of Ohio at the Ohio State Reformatory in 1989. He had planned on retiring on December 29, 2012. In his spare time he enjoyed boating, fishing and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle.

David is survived by his wife, Julie Ann (Hinton) Gozdziewicz, whom he married July 31, 1999; father, Angelo Dorto; two stepsons, James Brock and Damien Nichols; a step grandson, Benjamin; a brother, Angelo Dorto; a sister; two very best friends, Ted Morrison and Eddie McGlothlin; many treasured friends; his feline friend, Midnight; and his canine friend, Copper Bear. He was preceded in death by his mother.

Friends may visit from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, December 9, 2012 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd. The funeral service will be held Monday at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home with additional visitation beginning at 12:00 p.m. Ted Morrison will conduct the service. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery.
