MANSFIELD: Amanda "Mandy" J. Pengov Lawson, 56, of Mansfield, passed away in peace to join The Lord, on Saturday, January 19, 2013.
Mandy was born on May 31, 1956, to Edward and Dolores Pengov. She lived in Shelby until after her high school years, leaving to live in Florida, for seven years where she worked as a waitress. She later returned to Ohio where she worked as a waitress for Friendly's and Bob Evan's in Mansfield. Mandy was a very kind hearted and loving person. She always put others before herself. She loved sitting outside, watching the birds and nature. She really loved animals, especially dogs, cats, and birds. She adored her nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends.
She is survived by other loved ones including her father, Ed Pengov; sisters, Cindy (Richard) Baugh of Ontario, Darlene (Bob) Mortensen of Willard, and Theresa (David) Riedlinger of Plymouth; and several nieces, nephews, great- nieces, great-nephews, aunts, and uncles.
Along with her mother, Dolores Pengov, Mandy was preceded in death by her husband, Mike Lawson; one great-niece, Brooklyn Weaver; her grandparents; and several aunts and uncles.
Calling hours will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 25, 2013, at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, LTD., 1106 Park Avenue East (St. Rt. 430E), Mansfield. A memorial service will follow at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Robert J. Kurtz officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of Werner-Gompf Funeral Services.
