MANSFIELD: Margaret Ruth Burton, 83, of Mansfield, died Monday, January 21, 2013 at the home of her daughter, Nada Hall. Born June 27, 1929 in Ashland, Kentucky she was the daughter of William and Mattiebelle (McMillian) Stephens. A homemaker and Christian, she enjoyed sewing, dancing, BINGO, playing cards and gardening but her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. She had lived at Dayspring where she worked at the boutique and the rib cook-off. She never met a stranger and left an impression on anyone she met. She regarded the staff and residents at Dayspring as her family.
She is survived by two daughters, Barbara (Michael) Lambert of Lucas and Nada Hall of Mansfield; two sons, Lloyd Burton, Jr. and Charles Burton both of Mansfield; three grandchildren, Jessica (Brian) Funk, Kristin Burton and Keegan Burton; one great grandson, Lane Curtis Ray Hancock; three sisters, Annabelle Everitt of Ashland, KY, Georgiana (Bob) Earlywine of Springfield, OH and Ellie (Don) Vallencourt of Three Rivers, Michigan; a brother-in-law, Jim Burton of Toledo, OH; numerous nieces and nephews; and her dogs, Buddy and Rocky. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death on January 13, 1999 by her husband, Lloyd Burton, Sr. whom she married March 26, 1948 in Catlettsburg, KY; a son, Jimmy Burton on January 13, 1986; a son-in-law, Terry Hall; and nine brothers and sisters.

Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, January 24, 2013 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond Street, Mansfield. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 25, 2013 at the funeral home conducted by Pastor Clifford Earl Tackett. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Dayspring Assisted Living.
