Wayne D. Williams

MANSFIELD: Wayne D. Williams, 51, of Mansfield, passed away Wednesday, January 30, 2013 in Grant Medical Center in Columbus.

Wayne was born August 1, 1961 in Euclid, the son of Charles D. and Ann (Wilsdorf) Williams. After graduating from Brush High School, Wayne attended Kent State. He then received an associate degree in applied sciences with a major in electrical maintenance from North Central State College. He was graduated with honors and was a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honorary Society.

In his early years he enjoyed playing softball. Wayne was an avid sports fan. He loved the Cleveland Indians and Browns and Ohio State football.

Wayne is survived by his father and step-mother Charles and Janet Williams of Lexington; step-brothers Michael Gray of Coshocton and Stephen Gray and a step-sister Laurie Pahdopony, both of Columbus; uncle Sam Williams of Mason; and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his mother, grandparents and several aunts.

Friends may call on the Williams family Saturday, February 9, 2013 from noon until 1 p.m. in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home, where his memorial service will immediately follow at 1 p.m. Celebrant Jerry Wilson will officiate. Interment will follow in Lexington Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the American Liver Foundation may be made at the funeral home.
