Bessie Fay "Betty" Boliantz

MANSFIELD: Betty Boliantz of Mansfield, passed away Thursday evening January 31, 2013 in Liberty Nursing Center. She was 94.

Born Bessie Fay Crosby July 5, 1918 in Lexington, she was the only daughter of Harry and Malissa Jane (Swigart) Crosby. She was graduated from Fredericktown High School in 1937 and in 1939 was graduated from the Lillian Johnson School of Cosmetology.

Betty worked as a waitress at the former Meredith's Restaurant in Lexington, worked in the office of E.R. Boliantz Packing Company and later operated a beauty shop out of her home.

A member of First Christian Church, she had been active with the Lydia circle and quilting club of the church. She was a member of Lexington Senior Citizens and Bellville Fun-n-Friendship Club.

She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law Linda & Ron Mustard and Jo Ann & Bob Jones all of Mansfield; her son and daughter-in-law E. Robert & Sue Boliantz of Polk; grandchildren whom she truly enjoyed Jeff & Barb Chokreff of Uniontown, Rick & Shaun Chokreff of Columbus, Roby & Sheila Jones of Mansfield, Stephanie & Mike Dodane of Columbus, Jessica & Marcus Gordon of Ashland and Cory Boliantz of Polk; and nine great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Emiel Boliantz on August 26, 1997. Also deceased are her brothers Clarence, Clifford, Russ and Harry Crosby.

Her family will receive friends Tuesday, February 5, 2013 from 1 to 2 p.m. in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home, where her funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. Her grandson Jeff Chokreff will speak and facilitate family remembrances. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
