Jeffrey A. "Mac" McDonald

CRESTLINE: Jeffrey A. "Mac" McDonald, 57, of Crestline, died at home Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, after a long and courageous battle with multiple myeloma.
Jeff was born in Galion on Feb. 1, 1956, to the late Richard A. McDonald and Patsy (Ream) Bauer, who srvives in Bucyrus. He married Gloria L. Garton on Feb. 14, 1982, and she survives him.
Jeff was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He loved all things sport, especially playing golf with his family and friends and watching his beloved Ohio State Buckeyes. He spent time as the assistant coach for both the girls and boys varsity tennis teams at Crestline High School and loved watching his favorite professional players in tournaments.
He is survived by his daughter, Kadi L. McDonald, Columbus; two sisters: Pamela Laughbaum, Bucyrus, and Deborah (Gregory) Poth, Galion; brother, Michael McDonald, Galion; three nieces: Kilee (Jeremiah) Messimer, Michele Poth, and Carrie (Andy) Edwards; and three nephews: Chad McDonald, Chris McDonald, and Bob (Jennifer) Poth.
He was preceded in death also by his sister-in-law Deb McDonald. He is now playing ball with his golden retriever, Leslie, who went ahead of him in March 2012.
The family will receive friends Saturday, March 2, 2013, from 4-7 p.m. at the Mark A. Schneider Funeral Home, Crestline. A Memorial Service will immediately follow at 7 p.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor Martin Stiffler officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Jeff's family will distribute these gifts to the charities that have supported Jeff through his illness.
