James Elwood "Hob" Stanley

MANSFIELD: James Elwood "Hob" Stanley, 80, of Mansfield, passed away Thursday, June 6, 2013 at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital.

Hob was born October 14, 1932 in Brinegar, Kentucky to the late Herb and Roxie Lee (Williams) Stanley. He was a member and a deacon at Hanna Road Church of God and served as an elder in the Soldier Church of God Conference. Hob had retired from Richland Shale/Richland Molded Brick. He had a love for old-fashioned cars and enjoyed working on them and watching NASCAR. The fearless four, Madge, Robbie, Hob, and Mayme, traveled and vacationed the United States together. His family, his church, and the brickyard were his life.

Along with his wife of sixty years, Mayme L. (Price) Stanley, Hob is survived by two daughters, Cherri Lynn (Ronald) Carpenter of Shelby and Emilie Stanley of Mansfield; three granddaughters, Ronica Star (Joe) Cordrey, Audra (Don) Carpenter, and Amanda (Garrick) Jorgensen; five great-grandchildren, Starbella, Baileigh Jo, and Hazelle Cordrey, Drusilla and Zoltyn Jorgensen, and two on the way; one brother, Harold (Gladys) Arnett of Marion, Indiana; three sisters, Emogene Kilgore of Mansfield, Maxine Douglas of Olive Hill, Kentucky, and Carolyn (Scot) Hunter of Mansfield; and several nieces and nephews.

Hob was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Eula "Sue" McGraw; and in-laws, Clifford and Audra Price.

Calling hours will be from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Saturday, June 8, 2013 at Hanna Road Church of God, 536 Hanna Road, Mansfield, OH and from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Sunday, June 9, 2013 at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 U.S. Hwy 60 West, Olive Hill, KY. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, June 10, 2013 at Globe Funeral Chapel with Pastor Floyd Scaggs and Pastor Gayle Price officiating. Burial will be at Manning Chapel, Mocabee Creek Road, Olive Hill, Kentucky.
