MANSFIELD: Tom W. Chambers, of Mansfield, passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at Hospice House in Ashland. Tom was a veteran of the United States Army serving his country for 20 years and was honorably discharged. While he was serving, he was decorated with many service awards. He worked for the Center for Individual and Family Services for four years before becoming the Associate Director at Richland County Mental Health and Recovery Services Board where he worked for the past 15 years.
He is survived by his wife, Heidi (Sutton) Chambers; a daughter, Heather Chambers; two sons, Darren Chambers and Brad Chambers (Jessi Fugitt); two step sons, Adam Haring and Teddy Haring; a grandson, Justin Chambers; his father, Harold Chambers; a sister, Kelly (Philip) Bailey; two brothers, Harold (Mary) Chambers and Rick (Jenny) Chambers; his mother-in-law, Helen Mays; and a sister-in-law, Stephanie Birkley (Greg Huffman). He also leaves behind longtime friends Larry (Garnett) Fulmer. He was preceded in death by his mother, Marian (Amsbaugh) Chambers and his father-in-law, Ted Mays.
Memorial services for family, friends, and colleagues conducted by Rev. Bruce Haapalainen will be held on Monday, July 15, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at First Congregational Church, 640 Millsboro Rd., Mansfield. Memorial contributions may be made to the Center for Individual and Family Services, First Congregational Church or any Veterans Organization.
