Lamasie McMiller

MANSFIELD: Lamasie "Cie" McMiller, 80, passed this life Tuesday, September 10, 2013 in MedCentral Mansfield Hospital after a sudden illness.

Mr. McMiller was born on Monday February 27, 1933 in Knoxville, Tennessee and had come to Mansfield as a child. Cie was a member of the Greater Mitchell Chapel AME Church where he served as Chairman of the Steward's Board, the finance committee and the building fund committee. He was an employee of General Motors CPC Plant retiring in 1997 after 38 years of service and was a member of the United Auto Workers Union Local 549.

Cie is survived by 2 daughters: Lynn (Eric) McMiller Coard, Potomac, Maryland, and Tangi (Phillip) Shotwell, Worthington; 1 son: Darrin (Lori) McMiller, Lexington, Kentucky; 4 grandchildren: Tara Marissa (Gary) Shotwell Perkins, Phillip Shotwell, II, Chase and Austin Coard; 1great grandson Clark Perkins.

Lamasie was preceded in death by is wife Edna Jefferson McMiller, son Mark, mother Edna Dansby Carter, and father Butler Carter.

The family will receive friends Monday in the Greater Mitchell Chapel AME Church one hour prior to the 11 a.m. funeral services. His pastor Rev. Louise Jackson officiating. Interment will be in Mansfield Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the request that memorial contributions be made to greater Mitchell Chapel AME Church, 182 S. Adams St. 44902.
