Paul J. Gosser

SHELBY: Paul J. Gosser, age 84, of Shelby Settlement, died Friday, November 6, 2015 at Magnolia Terrace in Galion.

Paul was born December 15, 1930 in Shelby to the late Jacob and Mary (Weaver) Gosser. He was a 1949 graduate of Shelby High School. Known as "The Greaser" to his colleagues, Paul retired from PPG in Crestline after 30 years of service. He was a lifelong active member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Bethlehem, Shelby Settlement, where he helped with the grounds and cemetery committee for many years.

On May 18, 1957 Paul married the former Kathleen E. Biglin and she preceded him in death on March 19, 2015. Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Rick (Jeanne) Gosser of Crestline, Kim (Michele) Gosser of Crestline, and Keith (Brenda) Gosser of Galion; ten grandchildren, Ryan Gosser, Dawn (Jake) Fraizer, Jacob Gosser, Cody Gosser, Faith Gosser, Lia Gosser, Anissa Gosser, Brock Gosser, Lilly Gosser, Autumn Gosser; and a great grandson, Sully Frazier.

In addition to his wife and parents, Paul was preceded in death by his brother, Lawrence Gosser; and his sister, Rita Gamble.

Family and friends are welcome on Monday, November 9, 2015 from 4-8 PM at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby, where a rosary will be recited at 7:45 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Bethlehem, Shelby Settlement with Fr. Christopher Bohnsack celebrating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
