Bernard "Bernie" Greer

Bernard "Bernie" Greer Sept. 30, 1927~Mar. 05, 2013 Born in the Bronx, New York, graduated from Bronx High School of Science going on to graduate from New York University. He proudly served as a Corpsman in the Navy during World War II. In 1956 he moved to Los Angeles. He worked for Hunt Foods before moving to the Bay Area to work for Dole Company in San Jose. From Dole he went to work for Levi Strauss from which he took early retirement in 1986. He and Sharon, his wife, did world traveling but he wanted to do something more so he taught at College of Marin in the adult division. Bernie enjoyed challenges so he went to work for Orchard Supply Hardware helping people design irrigation systems. Bernie is survived by Sharon, his niece Carol Gold-Schechter and his nephew Evan Gold. He will also be greatly missed by Bruno Gougeon, Mike Day, Fran Armato and Nancy McCoy.
