Donald Wesley Robinson

Donald Wesley Robinson Jan. 11, 1923 Jan. 18, 2013 Age 90, died peacefully on Friday, January 18, 2013, at his home near San Diego. Don was born on January 11, 1923. He graduated from Mission High School, San Francisco and attended San Francisco City College. He was a pharmacist's mate first class in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Don married Anne Burden Nicholson of Canada on July 7, 1948. They lived in Tiburon from 1954 to 2000, when they moved to Sonoma. They moved to a San Diego retirement home in 2003. Don worked in his father's pharmacy after the war, and then became a displayman before forming his own exhibit consulting company, Robinson Exhibit Agency (later, Robinson & Associates). He volunteered building sets for the Cove Players, a local theater company in Tiburon. Don was also active in the incorporation of the City of Tiburon. He became the president of the Belvedere Ski Club in the mid 1960's and spent many weekends chaperoning buses of teens to the Sierras for Saturday ski trips. Don was known for his enduring sense of humor, genuine kindness and compassion, and love of chocolate. Don is survived by his wife Anne, daughter Janet, son-in-law Robert McCray, and granddaughters Katie and Glenna McCray. A celebration of Don's life will be held at a future date in San Diego.
