Kenneth H. Carolan Went to play in his last football game on January 4th, 2013 in Auburn, CA. Ken was born in Carolan, Arkansas on August 30th 1935, age 77. Ken came to California at age 2. He was raised in San Anselmo, CA and attended Tamalpais and Drake High Schools, also U.C. Berkeley. He lived in Novato, CA for 30 years and spent his entire career in the flooring industry successfully working for manufacturers in executive mgmt positions. Purchasing his own business Conklin Bros. Floor Covering of San Rafael in 1974, he created a successful business until his retirement in 2004. Ken was active in the local Rotary Club, as well as following his faith with his active involvement in Cursillo, a group to renew and deepen the Christian faith. He retired to Truckee, CA and drove a school bus for the Truckee Unified School District. He enjoyed getting to know the kids, especially taking the football team to their games in the fall. Ken is survived by his childhood sweetheart and wife of 56 years Janice Carolan, his sons, Ken and Chris Carolan, and daughter (son-in-law) Jana and Steve Lewis, mother-in-law Esther Williams, brother-in-law, Jim Settles and wife Mary, sister-in-law Judy Carolan, daughter-in-law Diana Carolan, several nieces and nephews, as well as his grandchildren who he loved so much and was extremely proud of, Kacey and, MacKayla Carolan, Austin, Kendall, and Kelly Lewis. He also leaves his faithful canine companions Billie and Gracie. Ken was predeceased by his parents, E.H. and Ethel Carolan, and his brother Reg Carolan. A celebration of Ken's life will be held in Applegate, CA in the spring.
