Dr. Louis Frederick Sciarrillo, Jr. Valiant, principled, and forever a gentleman, Lou Sciarrillo passed away on August 6, 2013 with courage and grace, as he had lived. He was surrounded by love through his last moments. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Jackie Sciarrillo, his daughter Nicole Sciarrillo and her husband Cass Vanini, son Joe Sciarrillo, and sister Mary Lou Sciarrillo. He was deeply loved and respected by all who knew him and will be greatly missed. Lou was born in Hoboken, New Jersey on April 22, 1946 to Dr. Louis and Mary Sciarrillo, and grew up in Weekhawken, NJ. Lou attended Holy Cross College in Worcester, MA and studied medicine at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. He practiced as an OB/GYN for 34 years at Kaiser, Vallejo with a reverence for the miracle of life. Generous, kind, intelligent, loving, and funny are just a few of Lou's many wonderful qualities. He and Jackie celebrated their life through hosting gatherings in their Novato home of 37 years, traveling, and enjoying every moment to its fullest with family and friends. The Sciarrillo family extends their sincere appreciation to the staff of Kaiser Terra Linda and Vallejo for the embrace of their care. His life will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 13th with a mass at St. Vincent's Church at 12:15 PM followed by a reception at Stone Tree Golf Club in Novato immediately after. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to the , the Oakwood Retirement Center for the Religious of the Sacred Heart, or the African Advocacy Network.
