Terra Linda and Antioch
Lynelle London Deming passed away January 28, 2013, after a long, incredibly courageous battle with lung disease. She was born on July 16, l935 in Santa Rosa to Stanley and Dorothy (Gandy) Silverthorn. She grew up in Walnut Creek and after graduating from Acalanes High School, married Jerry Macauley.
Lynn married Link Deming in 1961 and they moved to San Rafael to raise their family in 1963. A full-time working mom she still managed to be very active in the Terra Linda Mothers Group, Little League, Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts and all of her children's schools. She was a past-president of the Lady Elks and spent many hours and many years volunteering at the Wildcare Wildlife Center caring for injured birds. She worked for Safeway in Marin County for almost 40 years.
A resident of Antioch for the past 20 years, she was enjoying retirement with trips to Mexico, outings with the Clamper Widders (ECV 13/13.5) and the Tasty Ladies of Antioch, as a member of the Sportsmen Yacht Club.
She was widowed when her husband of 28 years, Link Deming, died in l990, and again with the death of Robert London in 2005. She is survived by her children, Lawrence (Stephanie) Macauley, Gregory Deming, Tami (Dave) Akkerman, step-daughter Laura Lee (Richard) Codington, six grandchildren, Justin Codington, Lauren Codington Silveira, Ryan Macauley, Rhianna Macauley Menzies, Tristan and Cameron Akkerman, two great-grandchildren, Skylar and Jace Codington, sister Marna Miller, nephew Jan Miller, nieces, Darcy Brooks, Dana Nippert and loving companion Jerry Kent.
Kind, generous, and with a great sense of humor, she will be truly missed by all who were fortunate enough to be a part of her life.
A memorial celebration of Lynn's life will be held at 2 P.M. Saturday, February 16, 2013, at the VFW
Post 6435 hall, 815 Fulton Shipyard Rd. Antioch.
