Murray H. Green

Murray H. Green Went home to be with the Lord on June 26, 2013. He was 98 years old. Murray lived a full life. He was born in Long Island, New York. He graduated from Amherst College in Massachusetts and received his MBA with distinction from Harvard Business School along with his CPA. Upon graduation he received his officers commission by graduating with the first class in a Special Naval Reserve School started at Harvard. He served as a Commander in the United States Navy on the USS Trenton and the USS Mobile in WWII. After the war Murray spent 25 years with the Atomic Energy Commission. Upon retirement he volunteered as a consultant for Consumer Advocacy with KCBS and KRON News. Murray is survived by his three sons Mat (Rudi), Frederick (Karen) and Norman (RiRi) and his two daughters Elizabeth "Betsy" and June, seven grandchildren and one great grandchild. Murray was a respected military officer and pilot. He was an athlete and especially enjoyed golf and tennis. He loved to sail and built his own sailboat. He was always a gentleman and will be sorely missed by the many lives he touched. Funeral arrangements are pending. He will be laid to rest in Pomfret, Connecticut, next to his late wife Mary Elizabeth. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Wounded Warriors Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KA 66675, appreciated.
