RAYMOND DENNIS BIONDI

Raymond Dennis Biondi Raymond Dennis Biondi was born on April 9, 1935, and passed away on May 4, 2013 at the age of 78. He was born in Pueblo, CO to Mike and Angela Biondi. He graduated from Central High School in Pueblo in 1953, and then graduated from Colorado University with a BA in Music Education in 1957. He also studied to be a concert pianist. Ray taught music for a short while in the Pueblo and Rye School Districts before entering the army, where he served for four years. After being honorably discharged in 1962, Ray moved to San Francisco and attended San Francisco State College where he received a Master of Arts Degree in 1964. He began his career in California in Marin County teaching music at Hill Jr. High in 1964. Four years later he began a new career there as a student counselor, a job he loved and suited him well. In 1981 Ray transferred to Novato High School where he worked as a student counselor until his retirement in 1998. After retiring he devoted much of his time to various charitable and community organizations including Under One Roof, an organization that supports AIDS research and the care of patients with AIDS. Ray loved music, theater, travel, and art, a love he shared with his partner of 28 years, Don Alexander. Ray was truly a wonderful man. He was kind, caring, generous, witty, wise, and delightful to be around. He will be dearly missed. Ray is preceded in death by his parents Mike and Angela Biondi and his partner Don Alexander. He is survived by his brother Robert Biondi, his niece Deena Harris, and his cousins Tina Highnote, April Chmielewski, Erin Chmielewski, Phyllis Gardner, Marilyn Walter, Virginia Niznick, John DeSalvo, and Carmen Bucciarelli. A memorial service will be held on Friday June 14, 2013 at 1:00 PM at the San Francisco Columbarium located at One Loraine Court., San Francisco, CA 94118.
