Robert Denning Edwards

Robert Denning Edwards San Rafael businessman Robert Denning Edwards of Novato passed away suddenly on November 2, 2013, while visiting his family in Canada. He was 71. Born August 24, 1942, in Edmonton, Alberta, Bob spent his childhood in Eagle Harbor, West Vancouver, where he developed his life-long love of boating and of the water. His family moved to California in his final year of high school. Following graduation, Bob spent three years in the U.S. Navy. He earned a degree in accounting from Golden Gate University. In 1970 he became a CPA and established a thriving family practice where his respect for and dedication to his clients are the foundation of his business. His daughter Kristina, also a CPA, shares the practice. Bob, a very generous man, was active in and supported many charitable causes in Marin. He was a past president of the Mission San Rafael Rotary Club, The Whistlestop and the Society of California Accountants. He was also a member of the Marin Yacht Club, North Bay Yacht Club and Sequoia Woods Country Club. He is survived by Sylvia, his loving wife of 47 years; his son Scott and wife Cathy; their children Spencer and Sally; and his daughter Kristina. His sister Karen Clarke of Edmonton, his brother John Edwards of Tigard, OR, and his sister-in-law Charlotte Hunt of Arnold, CA, and their families also survive. Bob loved traveling, golfing, boating and, above all, spending time with family and friends. His generosity and humor will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Friends are invited to a memorial service to be held at the Novato Presbyterian Church, 710 Wilson Ave, Novato, CA 94947 on Friday, November 22 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Mission San Rafael Rotary Foundation, P.O. Box 2495, San Rafael, CA 94912-2495 or to The Whistlestop, 930 Tamalpais Avenue, San Rafael, CA 94901.
