William (Bill) Shore Jr.

William (Bill) Shore Jr. Age 48, of Corte Madera, died peacefully but unexpectedly on April 19, 2013 in his sleep as a result of an undetected brain tumor. Bill is survived by his wife Jena and 7-year-old son Teige. He is also survived by his parents, Jeanne and William (Bill) Shore Sr. (San Rafael), sister Karen (Jim) Dobberstein of Larkspur, and brother Tim (Kristin) Shore of San Rafael. Bill was a loving uncle to Katie, Lauren, Tom, Julia (Dobberstein), Darby, Liam (Shore), Caelen and Roan (Fry). Bill was born in San Francisco in 1964 and moved to San Rafael at the age of 5. A 1982 graduate of Marin Catholic High School, Bill discovered his life-long love of music at an early age and became an extremely accomplished drummer. By his 30s, he was a professional recording artist with the band Cola for Arista and Interscope Records, working with industry-leading producers and musicians. Bill's artistic sensibilities and keen design aesthetic led him to a successful career in graphic design. Bill will be most remembered for his humor and wit and ability to light up the room with his gregarious personality. He was an amazing listener and took a real interest in every conversation, digging for details and relishing in the interaction. Bill brought joy to so many people and the friends he made were life-long. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. A private funeral will be held on Saturday, April 27 followed by an open Celebration Gathering at 3:00PM at the San Rafael Elks Lodge located at 1312 Mission Avenue.
