I met Jane in church. It was Sunday and we were listening to Pastor Gravrock's list of people we should remember in prayer.
One of those was my husband, Tommy Thompson, who had just had a stroke, been hospitalized and was now in rehab in a place further away than I had ever driven. Just being used to our small town of Novato I was wondering how I was ever going to be able to visit him. As the service was over and people began drifting apart Jane came over to me, introduced herself, and offered to help me asking if I needed her to drive me anywhere. It was as though God had sent me an angel! She took me for visits and some of my friends filled in so I was visiting him regularly for three months. By then Tommy and I had made a new friend for the rest of his life and then hers. She was special.

We lived next door to Jane for 24 years, until 2004. Jane was a great neighbor, never complained about our noisy family with 4 children and was very sweet to all of us. One of the world's most kind people.

You and I only met one time, with your Sister Trisha, but she spoke well of you and we pray for your family as they process your loss. Rest in Piece.

Aunt Jane. I will miss you very much. I always looked forward to talking to you. I will miss your sense of humor, kindness, and honesty. You were a great painter, passionate football fan, and just all around wonderful person. May you rest in peace and thank you for everything.

I will never watch a 49er game without thinking of Jane. I am so thankful and honored that I had the chance to get to know you. You were a wonderful friend and always good for a laugh. I know you are finally pain free and at peace with the Lord.

Aunt Jane,
How you are loved and missed! I found you to be funny, passionate at times(yes, rock on 49'rs), and most of all, absolutely unselfish with the love you showed my mom, your sister. Thank you for helping me keep an eye over her over these years.
You are resting in the arms of God now. Bless you now and always.

I am so sad to lose Aunt Jane she was truly a wonderful woman. Always funny and snappy, she had a sarcastic comment for every conversation. I used to love seeing her and Uncle Bill at my Grandparents house in Reno every year for Thanksgiving. So many good times. I had not seen Aunt Jane in a long time, but did get to see her in May of last year. It was a great visit and I'm so glad I have that as my last memory. My best wishes to my cousin John, he is in our thoughts. Love Audrey (Audra)

May this candle light the way for the family to get through the passing of a wonderful woman. I have a picture that Jane painted years ago and I love it. Also pictures of her and Bill when they were young. God blesses us all with great memories to hold dear to our hearts.

When I met Jane and became her sister-in-law. We went to visit a few times and I enjoyed her company and loved her sense of humor. She loved football, go SF was all she said. What a wonderful person to have gotten to know and the good memories of family together with Susan, Linda, Jane, Bill and myself. May you be blessed with the good memories and may God bless her son John, so he can heal and find some kind of life without Mom. I will always be here for the family no matter what they need. Wow! I just heard today thru my sister of Alicia's post. I thought my best friend's mom would outlive us all but I'm so glad my daughter and I got to visit with her and Suzie in September, when I learned of John's return home. I'll never forget her world famous fudge that JD always licked the entire top of, so nobody else would eat any! I think I probably ate a few pieces with John's signature "frosting" anyway...
I will miss you Jane and your incredible artwork! The world is dimmer without your shining spirit! I loved you!
