James Frederick Jaeckle

James Frederick Jaeckle (1926-2013) In the company of his family, Jim Jaeckle, a long-time resident of Mill Valley, peacefully passed away on October 13th. Born in Dunsmuir, California on July 26, 1926, Jim moved to the Bay Area after serving in the Navy. He earned undergraduate and graduate degrees from UC Berkeley and San Francisco State University and taught physical education and coached at Francisco Junior High School in San Francisco before retiring after 30 years of service. After his retirement Jim continued his interest in all sports. He fished throughout his life and enjoyed sharing and introducing this activity to others. He was an avid reader, learned to fabricate jewelry, and worked to become an accomplished painter. He also enjoyed playing golf, and spent many summers traveling in the United States and Europe with his wife Dixie. Jim is survived by Dixie, his wife of 57 years, a daughter Pam from Los Angeles, CA and a son Will from Bloomington, IL.
