Nila Antonia Baylo

Nila Antonia Baylo Jan. 4, 1912 - Nov. 15, 2012 Nila Antonia Baylo passed away peacefully at the age of 100 years at her home for the past three years in Novato, CA. Born in San Mateo, CA she was the daughter of John and Maria Favalessa, who emigrated from Trieste, Italy. She was the older sister of the late Anthony Favalessa and the late Carmen St. John. She was the loving mother of John Baylo (Patricia) of San Mateo and Ronald G. Baylo (Jean) of Inverness, CA. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Arthur J. Baylo. Nila leaves four grandchildren; Sheree Luttrell (Rick) Steven Baylo, Rachelle Epps (Doug), Ronald Baylo Jr. (Klymer). Great Grandchildren; Zachary Baylo, Katherine Luttrell, Jackson and Madeline Epps, Maya and Gia Baylo. Step grandchildren Lindsay Boff and Eric Luttrell. In addition to her immediate family are many nieces, nephews and cousins in Italy. Nila attended Lawrence school and San Mateo High School. She married her neighborhood sweetheart Arthur John Baylo in San Mateo and they enjoyed 50 wonderful years of married life before Arthur's passing in 1987. They enjoyed raising a family, traveling, entertaining friends and family. When they retired to Palm Springs they continued to enjoy a beautiful life. Nila shared her time, talents and joy of cooking with others. Nila belonged to numerous service organizations, including the Italian Catholic Federation and the Sons of Italy. She volunteered at the Desert Blind and in 2003, at the age of 92 was recognized for her outstanding volunteer service by being presented the National Jefferson Award by Congresswoman Mary Bono in Palm Springs.
