Russell Earl Brubaker

Russell Earl Brubaker 1929-2013 Russell Earl Brubaker passed away very peacefully on Monday October 21, 2013 after a long illness. He is survived by his loving companion of 10 years, Reva Saper, by his mother Ethel Brubaker (105), as well as by his children, Karl Brubaker, Laura Dierkx and Eric Brubaker and his eleven grandchildren, Scott, Alexandra, Chris, Katie, Kyle, Jonathan, Matt, Tim, Nathalie, Jack and Kate and two great grandchildren, Jax and Joaquin. He was preceded in death by his wife Joanne Brubaker and two children, Russell John and Susan Lynn. Russ was born in Michigan on May 2, 1929, joined the navy upon High School graduation and then studied at the University of Michigan. He returned to the Navy after graduation and eventually joined I.B.M. for a 30 year career which took him all over the west coast finally landing the family in Ross in 1974. In retirement Russ served on the Marin Civil Grand Jury, represented the city of Larkspur on the Commission on Aging. He was honored by the city of Larkspur as the Senior citizen of the year in 2009. Russ enjoyed traveling, talking politics and playing bridge He was a man of exceptional integrity and will be dearly missed. A memorial will be held at Montgomery Chapel in San Anselmo on November 10, 2013 at 12:00 noon. The chapel is located at 1 Richmond Road.
