Obituary Condolences

Alice Louise Ames
Alice passed peacefully September 6, 2003. The love and support Alice and Rich received from family and friends was inspiring and overwhelming. Born September 1, 1948 in San Francisco, Alice graduated from Mercy High School and San Francisco State. She taught at St. Anne's grammar school until moving to Novato in 1977. She resumed her career for 16 years at her second home, St. Rita's, Fairfax.
She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Rich (SFFD); her sons Justin, Jeremy (Dana), and Devin; her older admiring sisters and friends Mary Parish and Barbara Gasparini; also cousins Robert Brodie and Beverly Teak as well as many nieces and nephews.
Remembered for her warm smile, kind words and pleasant manner she made life richer for her presence. Breast cancer survivor, she succumbed to pancreatic cancer after a three year struggle. Between treatments Alice and Rich travelled some 75K miles from Turkey to Toronto, the Suez Canal to the Panama Canal, Kansas City to Kona. Never Give Up!!
Friends are invited to attend a Rosary on Friday September 12 at 7:00 PM at Our Lady of Loretto Catholic Church, 1806 Novato Blvd., Novato. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday September 13 at Our Lady of Loretto at 10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are preferred to Hospice of Marin, 150 Nellen, Corte Madera, CA 94925.
