ANITA EICKENHORST

Anita Kathleen Kilpatrick Staub Eickenhorst Anita Eickenhorst, born on Christmas Eve, 1947, died on All Saints Day, 2010, surrounded by the love of her husband, close friends and clergy of several faith traditions. She had suffered a catastrophic stroke on the afternoon of 29 October 2010, was cared for during the last three days of her life by an extremely competent, professional and compassionate team of ER, ICU and Neuro-Critical Care staff at SF General, and was then called home to the loving arms of God. Anita graced the lives of all whose paths she crossed, especially those who were privileged to walk with her for a while. A delightful laugh, the ability to see humor in much of life's drama, sparkling blue eyes, an analytic mind, fierce loyalty, and a deep faith were some of her trademarks. Gifted with a lovely soprano voice, Anita delighted in making a glad noise, and her recent discovery of Bach's Cantatas added yet another dimension to her spiritual life and celebration of the sacred. During the last year of her life, Anita found her true spiritual home in the Roman Catholic Church at St Dominic's, San Francisco, and celebrated her Baptism into the faith at Easter Tide of this year. On Saturday, December 11, 2010 from 9:30 to 11:15 AM, there will be a music Prelude and Requiem Mass at Saint Dominic's Roman Catholic Church, 2390 Bush St, San Francisco. On Sunday, December 12, 2010 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM, there will be a further celebration of Anita's life at Campbell Hall, Christ Episcopal Church, Sausalito. Charitable contributions in Anita's memory may be made to Saint Dominic's Catholic Church, San Francisco or Christ Episcopal Church, Sausalito.
