Catherine Jordan Knopf Nov. 2, 1914 June 30, 2014 In Catherine's 100th year, she passed away surrounded by her loving family. Catherine was predeceased by her husband, Gedge Knopf DDS, her brother, Thomas Jordan, and sister, Mercedes Sullivan. She is survived by her sister, Patricia Iles, children Bill (Margaret), Susan, and Tom Colleen). Devoted grandmother to Patrick, Kelly, Kerry, Gedge, Jordan, Catherine, Tommy, and Christine. Cherished great grandmother of 15. As a young woman, Catherine began her career as the legal secretary for the Freitas Law Firm in San Rafael. Catherine served as the Corporate Secretary of Westamerica Bank, and in retirement was a founder and board member of the Bank of Marin. She enjoyed many years as a member of the Corporate Secretaries of America. Among Catherine's numerous associations, she was a board member of the Archdiocese of San Francisco finance committee, St. Vincent's School for Boys, St. Raphael's Church, Marin County Historical Society. She was honored as a Paul Harris Fellow of the San Rafael Rotary Club, a Distinguished Alumna of San Domenico School, and the Vincentian Award from St. Vincent's School for Boys. She received two Pope's medals for her work with the Archdiocese of San Francisco and the Catholic Youth Organization, and two Lifetime Memberships to the PTA. She was a longtime Lector and Eucharistic Minister for St. Raphael's Church. In Catherine's final years, she was lovingly assisted by her devoted caregivers Maria Benson, Claudia Calderon, Karla Serrano, Conception Delago, and Marinella Rosado. Private services were held.
