To the Daniels Family:
I knew Chuck for over 40 years--MRC, Dominican College, Rotary Club of San Rafael, Marin Council of Boy Scouts, and Country Club Homeowners' Association. A true gentleman with a dulcet voice and a role model for all of us in how he dealt with his family, his friends, his Community, and his life. He was involved with everything good and improved upon everything he did. A Legend passes.
From my Family to yours--Our condolences and sympathy,

To the Daniels family,
I was saddened to read about Chuck's passing. I first met Chuck in the early 70's via the Mondavi connection and was able to work with him and the family for several years in the mid-80's. He was a true gentleman and a pioneer in the growth of fine wine in Northern California. Thanks to Chuck, and visionaries like him, I have had the opportunity to pursue my dream in the wine business. Thank you Chuck for everything you did. God bless you.

To the wonderful Daniels Family...
On behalf of the outstanding men and women of the San Rafael Fire Department, please accept our deepest condolences on the loss of Chuck.
Our Fire Commission Chairman Chuck Daniels was involved with the Marin County Fire Service for over 60 years and at one point handled all fire investigation activity in Marin. In addition to having a keen eye for details and the inquisitive mind required of a fire investigator, Chuck was a true fire service professional.
Commissioner Daniels was foremost a man of God, a wonderful family man as well as a successful businessman and community leader.
In my experience, Chuck was indeed the “real deal” and a rare treasure of a human being. He had a servant’s heart and was a humble giant…an honest to goodness gentleman among men.
Chuck always maintained a warm smile and helpful hand and we truly loved seeing him at the firehouse, a place where he was always welcome, appreciated and greatly respected.
All of us are certainly better for knowing Chuck and are so appreciative of the time he was able to spend with us.
Chuck’s support of the San Rafael Fire Department is and will always be, without compare.
O Lord, support us all day long, until the shadows lengthen and the evening comes, and the busy world lies hushed,
and the fever of life is over, and our work is done. Then in thy mercy grant us a safe lodging, and a holy rest, and peace at the last.
Respectfully,
Christopher Gray

I have known Chuck for over 20 years. We had lots of conversations, laughs and many discussions. When he spoke of Meeks Bay his eyes would light up, as they would when he spoke of the things that were of great intrest to him.. I know that he will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Sending God's blessings for strength at this time.

Chuck was one of a kind. I had the pleasure of working with him over the years as head of a several non-profit organizations. He never said no to a request for sponsorship or advice. He was a man of great integrity and warmth. Mr. Daniels was one of the top ten people on my list to include in the 2004 edition of "100 Faces of Marin" His love of Marin and life shone through in all of his endeavors.

I met Mr. Daniels when I was working at Marin Catholic. It was during a brief moment that I was in awe of the stellar business man and admired leader in the community. His life touched so many....in just a brief encounter. He was so impressive a man.

On behalf of the 4 generations of the Silvestri family who have been fortunate to have known Chuck and his family here in "Marvelous Marin" since the 1940s, I will toast the memory of our true and loyal friend tonight as we begin a new decade a bit sadder without his wisdom to call upon, but appreciative of the values and high standards he lived by, which have made our community a much better place. "Pax vobiscum" my friend.
