Christine Chourre McNamee November 8, 1961 - January 30, 2013 San Rafael Christine Chourre McNamee, wife of Jim McNamee for 17 years, daughter of Jean and Claudie Chourre, sister of Nadine Springett and Viviane Ago, died unexpectedly January 30, 2013 at her home in San Rafael. Chris was born in Pau, France in 1961. Her family moved to San Francisco in 1963 and then to Marin in 1980. She attended Star of the Sea elementary and high school in San Francisco. Chris loved life. She loved her husband, her family, good friends, and plentiful laughs. She always enjoyed great food and had a passion for cooking and feeding people. Her parents instilled her with a love for her French heritage especially the culture and the language. She enjoyed her work in insurance and helping her parents in their family business. Her raison d'etre was to give, love, share and laugh. Chris married a fun-loving Irishman with a sense of humor, natural goodness and devotion to family. Chris and Jim enjoyed travels to Panama and Tahiti and loved visiting Stinson Beach. Their menagerie at home included four quirky cats and her beautiful labrador Mollie. Jim and Chris combined for the best mix of passions, laughter, love and happiness that lasted until, as they agreed, death did they part. Chris loved her immediate and extended family with overwhelming enthusiasm. She had a huge heart and connected easily with anyone she came across. Chris was the spark-plug that kept everything running. She was the mom to many, the sister we all wanted, the friend you could depend on and the partner in life that a lot of people can only dream of. Her family will miss her deeply and she will always be in our hearts. Chris is survived by her husband Jim, her parents Jean and Claudie Chourre, sisters Nadine (Rob) Springett and Viviane (Don) Ago, nieces and nephew Dominique, Jon and Maddy and her in-laws Sharon, John (Linda), Pattie (Terry Herringshaw), Casey (David Lennon), Dennis (Martha), Peter, and Steve, all living locally.
