Connie Martigopoulos Obituary
Connie Martigopoulos Passed away peacefully on Friday, July 18th 2014. She will be deeply missed as a loving wife, mother, yia yia, aunt, nouna, relative and great friend to so many people. Connie was born May 22nd, 1935 in San Francisco, CA to parents John Malandaras of Halkida, Greece and Lucy Triantos of San Francisco. Connie was preceded in death by siblings Grace Spadini and Nick Malandaras. Connie, a native Californian grew up in the Greek neighborhood of San Francisco, graduating from Mission High School. Connie resided happily in Corte Madera with husband Harry for the past 54 years participating in many local organizations, including the Corte Madera Recreation Center, where she was often asked to "call out" the weekly bingo games. Both she and Harry were past Senior Citizens of the year. Connie was the ultimate hostess, her home warm and welcoming, where family, friends and even friends of friends gathered often. She was an amazing cook, and baker and could mix a mean Manhattan. She loved getting together with her "Big Fat Greek" family and never turned down a chance to celebrate an event. She loved to dance and was usually the first person to lead the line in a traditional Greek dance. Connie is survived by husband of 61 years Harry, son Nick and wife Mary, grandchildren Nicholas, John, and Olivia; and by numerous nieces, nephews, godchildren, cousins, relatives, and friends. Connie's smile, humor, and her ability to light up a room will be missed by all who knew her. Remember her not with sadness but with how she always left you feeling happy to have spent the day with her.
