DAVID RANDOLPH LOAR

David Randolph Loar David Randolph Loar, or "Randy", as he was called by family and friends, passed away at home in Sonoma, CA on September 23, 2010 surrounded by his wife and children, after a courageous battle against cancer. Randy was born in 1940 in Peoria, Illinois to Nelson and Alwillah Loar. Randy graduated from the University of Illinois in 1963 with a B.S. Degree in Accounting, and was a member of Phi Delta Theta. He later graduated from the Stanford University SEP Program. After serving as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy, he obtained his CPA while working at Price Waterhouse. Later he was appointed CFO/Vice President for the Energy Company of Natomas Corporation, often traveling to Indonesia and Europe. He also served as CFO for Koch Systems in San Francisco, and later as CFO at Don Thompson Associates. He was a longtime resident of Mill Valley, CA. Randy married his true love, Barbara, in 1965. He was her consummate "Gentle Giant" and a loving and supportive father. Randy's interests included his family, golf, music, history and politics. He and Barbara traveled extensively throughout the U. S. and around the world. He was devoted to his wife and family, and as an individual was intelligent, giving, an incredibly loving man with a strong sense of integrity. With his robust sense of humor, Randy brought joy to all who knew him. Randy is survived by his wife Barbara, sons Jeff and Todd, daughter-in-law Carolyn, two grandchildren Nikolai and Jenya Loar, sister Valerie Keife and, three brothers, Ned, Jerry and Roger as well as many nieces and nephews.
