Diane Adele Michna Obituary
Diane Adele Michna September 11, 1960 to March 26, 2013 Di left us peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer surrounded by her family. She was born and raised in Visalia, California, before attending the University of Montana. Upon graduation, Di was recruited to work for Amfac Corporation in San Francisco. She worked for the remainder of her career as a very successful stockbroker at Alex Brown and Sons. Di left the workforce to focus on her two boys whom she absolutely adored. Despite her achievements in finance, she was most proud of her success as a mom, always being there for her two boys. As a full time mom, she became very involved in her boys' lives. Regardless of what they were into, Di was part of it. She was a member of many local boards. She became a Board Member for Pixie Park followed by Ross Valley Nursery School, Kentfield Schools Foundation and Ross Valley Little League. Di was Team Mom for countless baseball teams. She was a dedicated volunteer for Kentfield Schools and her community and could always be counted on to get the job done. All the while Di was helping her husband Mark in his growing dental practice. Di loved to be outside and especially loved taking the family dog, Molly, up to Crown Road, knocking out exercise for both. She was an unbelievably amazing cook and loved to entertain friends, hosting numerous dinner parties. One of her passions was snow skiing. Having raced in high school, she maintained her incredible speed and skill over the years. Her goal was to make sure that her two boys shared her passion, which they quickly did. This resulted in many wonderful family trips to Tahoe. She always cherished her annual Black Diamond Girls ski trip. Di leaves behind her loving husband Mark of 17 years, her two beautiful boys Andrew (AJ) and Matthew (Matty), her mother Leigh Dreo and father Ray Dreo. Her additional family members include brother-in-laws Eric Michna, Chris Michna and Romeo Gregorie; sister-in-laws Denise Michna and Annette Gregorie; mother-in-law Rosina Michna; nieces Morgan, Lindsay, Presley and Alexis; aunt and uncle Bill and Pam Davis and cousins Brandon and Hope Bernard. Finally, Di had a huge circle of loving friends that adored her. Services will be held at St. Sebastian's Catholic Church in Greenbrae, Wednesday, April 3 at 10:30AM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The .
